Species Name Search (Catalogue of Life)

Searches the latest Catalogue of Life release for scientific names (species, genera, families and synonyms) and returns, for each hit, its rank, status (accepted or synonym), authorship, the accepted name when the hit is a synonym, the kingdom-to-genus classification and an id for the taxon-info tool. The search covers about 5.4 million names.
