Search Series Within a Dataset (DBnomics)
dbnomics/search-series
Searches one DBnomics dataset for series by plain words (for example united states, inflation, exchange rate) and returns each match's provider, dataset and series code, name, frequency and dimensions, without observations. Use it to find the series code that DBnomics Time Series needs. Takes an agency code from the public statistical agencies only (central banks, national statistics offices, IMF, OECD, Eurostat, World Bank and similar), a dataset code such as WEO:2023-10, an optional search text and a page size of up to 100; every word of the text must match. An empty results list means nothing matched. An unknown dataset code is a VALIDATION error. Each series keeps the licence and terms of the agency named in provider_code. DBnomics data, passed through unmodified and served by Eden Engine; not an official DBnomics product.
Price
$0.0026 per call
You pay the price shown. If a call turns out to cost more than its quote, you pay the actual price, capped at twice the quote. No monthly minimum. Top-ups start at $5.
Data source
Data from DBnomics (CEPREMAP), https://db.nomics.world. DBnomics' own aggregated datasets are published under the ODbL (https://opendatacommons.org/licenses/odbl/1-0/); each series is the original source agency's data, named in provider_code, and remains subject to that agency's licence and terms of use (listed by agency in DBnomics List Providers). Credit DBnomics and the source agency. Served by Eden Engine; not an official DBnomics product.
Use it
Five steps: search, inspect, learn, run, settle. No per-tool setup; your agent reaches this tool through the meta-tools it already has.
Connect once and your AI can find and run this tool, and any other it needs.
// 1. search: find the tool
omnial_search({ query: "what you need" })
// 2. inspect: price and input schema
omnial_inspect({ tool: "dbnomics/search-series" })
// 3. learn: read the usage guide at runtime
omnial_learn({ tool: "dbnomics/search-series" })
// 4. run: price the exact call first, then run it
omnial_execute({ tool: "dbnomics/search-series", input: { /* see input_schema */ }, dry_run: true })
omnial_execute({ tool: "dbnomics/search-series", input: { /* ... */ } })
// 5. settle: the call is charged when it finishes, nothing to doNot connected yet? Point your MCP client at https://mcp.eden-engine.com/mcp, then copy a config for your client.
