Japan Address and Place-Name Geocoder: Coordinates for a Japanese Address (GSI)

gsiaddresssearch/geocode-address

Looks up Japanese addresses, municipalities, prefectures, facilities and landmarks by Japanese text (kanji or kana, at least 3 characters) and returns each match's name and coordinates as longitude and latitude, for example 東京都千代田区 returns Chiyoda ward, Tokyo, at 139.7536, 35.6939. Broad searches return many matches (京都市 returns 87). Latin text such as Tokyo finds nothing and returns an empty list. Geospatial Information Authority of Japan data, passed through unmodified and served by Eden Engine; not an official GSI product.
