ITIS Species Search by Scientific Name

Searches the Integrated Taxonomic Information System (ITIS) for a scientific name and returns each matching name with its Taxonomic Serial Number (TSN), author, kingdom and name parts. A species name returns the species and the subspecies recorded under it. A name with no match returns an empty list. Use the TSN with ITIS Common Names for a Taxon. Data from ITIS, passed through unmodified and served by Omnial; not an official ITIS product.
