Asteroid or Comet Lookup: Orbit and Physical Data by Name or Number (NASA JPL)
jplssd/small-body
Look up one asteroid or comet in the JPL Small-Body Database by name, number or designation (for example Ceres, 433, 99942 or 2024 YR4): its identity (full name, short name, orbit class, whether it is a near-Earth object or potentially hazardous), the orbit solution with its elements (eccentricity e, semi-major axis a in au, perihelion distance q in au, inclination i, longitude of ascending node om, argument of perihelion w and mean anomaly ma in degrees, perihelion time tp, period per in days, mean motion n in deg/day, aphelion ad in au), the minimum orbit intersection distance with Earth in au, observation counts and dates, and the physical parameters the database holds (absolute magnitude, diameter, rotation period, albedo and so on). An unknown name returns found false. A name that matches several objects (Halley is both a comet and an asteroid) is refused as a validation error: give the number or designation instead, for example 1P or 2688. Price
$0.0026 per call
You pay the price shown. If a call turns out to cost more than its quote, you pay the actual price, capped at twice the quote. No monthly minimum. Top-ups start at $0.50.

// 2. inspect: price and input schema
omnial_inspect({ tool: "jplssd/small-body" })
// 3. learn: read the usage guide at runtime
omnial_learn({ tool: "jplssd/small-body" })
// 4. run: price the exact call first, then run it
omnial_execute({ tool: "jplssd/small-body", input: { /* see input_schema */ }, dry_run: true })
omnial_execute({ tool: "jplssd/small-body", input: { /* ... */ } })
