Met Museum Collection Search (Object IDs)

metmuseum/search-objects

Searches The Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection (its Open Access Collection API) by keyword and filters and returns the matching object IDS ONLY, one page at a time, with the total match count. Nothing about each object comes back; look an id up with the Met Museum Object tool for its title, artist, date and image. Filters: department, highlight, on view, has an image, title only, artist or culture only, medium, place, and a date range in years (BCE negative; an object matches only when its whole date range lies inside the window). Only the first 10,000 matches are reachable. An empty result is objectIDs null, not an empty list. The search index is wider than the open-access set, so a few returned ids are not served by the object tool. Data from The Metropolitan Museum of Art, released under Creative Commons Zero.
