NPI Registry Search by Specialty and State (NPPES)

Searches the U.S. National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) NPI Registry for healthcare providers in one state whose taxonomy (specialty) description contains the given text, for example Cardiology in NY. Returns each provider's NPI number, name, status, practice and mailing addresses, telephone number and taxonomies. The text matches any taxonomy description, so Cardiology also returns pharmacists whose taxonomy is Pharmacist, Cardiology. Up to 200 providers per call, with a skip offset up to 1000. The results include the names, addresses and telephone numbers of individual practitioners, including sole proprietors, as the registry publishes them. Data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, served by Eden Engine; not an official CMS product.
