Building Permits by County for a Year: Units and Value by Structure Size (Building Permits Survey)

uspermits/get-county-permits

A byte window of the Building Permits Survey annual county file for one year (2000 to 2025): for each county, the buildings, housing units and valuation in dollars authorized by permits for 1-unit, 2-unit, 3-4 unit and 5-or-more-unit structures, plus the reported-only counts. The file has about 3,030 counties ordered by state then county FIPS and no filter, so the window defaults to the first 50,000 bytes (about 470 rows); at most 500 rows are returned. Send range as bytes=START-END, continue at START plus consumedBytes, and expect the first and last line of a window past the start to be dropped as fragments (counted in droppedLines). The 2023 file is 374,707 bytes. U.S. federal statistics data, served by Eden Engine; not endorsed or certified by the data publisher.
