Water Quality Portal Stations Near a Point: Monitoring Locations within a Radius
waterqualitydata/stations-near-point
Finds water-quality monitoring stations within a radius of a latitude and longitude, from the Water Quality Portal that combines USGS, EPA and state and tribal data. Takes the latitude, longitude, a radius in miles (0.1 to 3) and an optional site type (stream, lake, well, estuary, ocean or spring). Returns a GeoJSON FeatureCollection: one feature per station with its coordinates, id, name, type, contributing organisation, hydrologic unit, state and county, and the number of sampling activities and results on record. Latitude must be 5 or more, so the continental US, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Guam are covered. A search that matches nothing returns an empty collection. Water Quality Portal data as served by Eden Engine; not an official Water Quality Portal product.
